Nancy Moricette identifies as a Haitian American actorvist (actor/activist). She works extensively with nonprofit and for profit organizations to create socially conscious inclusive programs. She has her own consulting firm, Áse Power Consult which specializes in helping organizations build authentic sustainable relationships across cultural and gender divides. Her current clients include Homeboy Industries, iO West Theatre in Los Angeles and the prestigious Wilma Theatre Company in Philadelphia. She has performed at The Public Theatre, Lookingglass Theatre, Goodman Theatre, Steppenwolf Theatre, Chicago Dramatists, Writer’s Theatre, Chicago Shakespeare Theatre Company, The Wilma Theatre, Woolly Mammoth Theatre, The Magic Theatre and recently received critical praise for her portrayal as Amanda Wingfield in The William’s Project’s production of The Glass Menagerie in Seattle. Her awards include the 2013 Philadelphia Theatre Critic’s Choice award for her portrayal of Jekesai in Danai Gurira’s The Convert, which she also received a 2014 Helen Hayes Award nomination for. She is a recent recipient of the highly competitive diversity scholarship from Amy Poehler’s Upright Citizen’s Brigade’s sketch comedy writing program.
